Services
Hillcrest Animal Hospital offers complete, full-service veterinary care for all your pets. From a Wellness Check-up on some exotics to a life-saving surgery on your best and most loyal friend, you can trust us for all your pet's health care needs.

Annual Wellness Checkups Regular checkups – usually yearly – are the best way to keep your pet healthy and are highly recommended by our veterinarians. Our nose-to-tail exams can identify “hidden” health problems before they become serious, and give you the peace of mind of knowing you’ve done the right thing for you pet’s best care. No appointment necessary – feel free to bring your pet in when it’s convenient for you.

Allergy Care
Many pets – like many people – are allergic to foods, airborne particles like pollen, and certain substances that come into contact with their skin. If your pet is scratching frequently, licking or biting its paws, or rubbing its eyes or ears, there’s a good chance allergies are the cause. Don’t make your pet suffer through endless itching and discomfort – we can identify and help control allergic symptoms with special skin care products, medications, alternate foods, or other treatments.

Boarding/Kennels
While our indoors, climate-controlled kennels are primarily used for overnight supervision of pets recuperating from surgeries, you’re welcome to call us next time you’re going out of town, in case there’s “room at our inn.” What better place to leave your pet than in the care of veterinarians?

Flea & Tick Control
Heartworm disease, tapeworms, Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Lyme’s disease. West Nile Virus. These are a few of the diseases that can be transmitted to your pets by parasites like fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes. Even “inside” cats and dogs are at risk through exposure to other pets and even humans.
Flea and tick preventives – like Frontline Plus and Advantage – are the best, most convenient way to protect your pet and prevent infestations. Preventing flea and tick problems will cost considerably less than attempting to deal with an infestation.
We offer a wide array of safe, easy-to-use products that can help keep your pet – and your home – free of these parasites. We’ll discuss your pet’s outdoor environment, review the preventive treatment options to choose from, and help you decide which is best for your particular pet.

Heartworm Prevention
Sadly, heartworm disease is one of the leading killers of dogs every year. With the right medication, it is also one of the most preventable diseases. As a responsible pet owner, you need to protect your dog against heartworm disease every year, all year long.
Before putting your dog on a heartworm medication, the American Veterinary Medical Association strongly recommends that dogs should not be administered heartworm medication without prior testing, due to the potential dangers of administering heartworm medications to dogs already heartworm positive.
As your trusted partner in the care of your pet, we can provide necessary testing, explain the differences between heartworm medications, and help you select the best option for your dog.

Extended Vaccination Protocol
Annual rabies shots are required by law as a societal safety precaution. Often performed as part of your pet’s annual wellness checkup, we will take care of notifying the county of your compliance with the procedure. Other vaccines are also essential for your dog, cat or ferret in this area. Your veterinarian can assist you with the specific vaccines necessary to keep your pet as healthy as possible
